through financial donations, providing support to students from low-income backgrounds.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-310a49f elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"310a49f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"single__lead\"><div class=\"lead\"><div class=\"single__lead\"><p class=\"translation-block\">Markoja is proud to participate in the <strong>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a style=\"color: #6cc176;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fer.unizg.hr\/alumni\" target=\"_self\">FER Alumni Foundation program<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, an initiative that provides financial and mentorship support to students from low-income backgrounds. Through donations, the Foundation offers scholarships to young individuals facing financial challenges, giving them the opportunity to continue their education and realize their potential.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">Thanks to the collective efforts of donors, including 16 companies and over a 100 individuals, <strong>ten scholarships<\/strong> were awarded this year, significantly reducing the financial burden on students and their families. The Foundation\u2019s program goes beyond financial assistance \u2013 students gain additional knowledge, advice, and support during their studies through mentorship and connections with successful alumni. Dean <strong>Vedran Bilas<\/strong> emphasized the importance of this initiative, which strengthens the bond between past and current students while offering tangible support.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">Established a year and a half ago, the Foundation is the result of the FER Alumni Committee\u2019s dedication. Despite numerous legal challenges, they succeeded in gathering donations and organizing the first round of scholarships. Assistant Professor <strong>Josip Lon\u010dar<\/strong>, the Foundation\u2019s manager, took on the responsibility of legal formalities and successfully completed all necessary registrations.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">Unlike the strict criteria of state scholarships, the Foundation developed its own process, which includes a higher income threshold and <strong>motivational letters from students<\/strong>. Among the 11 applications received, the Foundation\u2019s members selected scholarship recipients through interviews, focusing on candidates\u2019 genuine needs and motivation. <strong>Igor Strej\u010dek<\/strong>, Managing Director of Microblink and President of the Foundation\u2019s Administrative Board, highlighted the emotional and sincere nature of the applications, especially those from students who had lost parents or faced family tragedies.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">One of this year\u2019s scholarship recipients, <strong>Matea \u010cunovi\u0107<\/strong>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a style=\"color: #6cc176;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jutarnji.hr\/vijesti\/hrvatska\/jedanaest-ranjivih-pisama-osam-odgovora-i-sam-imam-petero-djece-na-to-ne-mozes-ostati-ravnodusan-15522674\" target=\"_self\">shared her story<\/a><\/span>. She comes from a small village and a seven-member family with unemployed parents. Losing her state scholarship and a spot in a student dormitory further strained her circumstances. However, with the FER Alumni Foundation scholarship, Matea has been able to continue her education without adding financial pressure on her family. She noted that the scholarships are not just bureaucratic processes \u2013 they carry a strong human element, offering students additional strength and motivation to
