The installation and deployment of 5G base stations by the company Markoja represents a significant step towards the digital progress of Croatia. This move will not only improve the user experience, but also encourage innovation and economic development in the country.

The progress of technology is spreading rapidly and affecting the daily life of people all over the world. One of the latest innovations in the telecommunications sector is precisely the introduction of the fifth generation of mobile networks.

The 5G network enables incredibly fast data transfers, which will transform the way we communicate, work and have fun, as well as the way the economic segment will conceive and put into practice its way of doing business and production processes.

Markoja recognized the need for a faster and more reliable low-latency network that is able to support the growing needs of modern society as well as the demands of Industry 4.0. In this context, as part of the auction for issuing licenses for the use of radio frequency (RF) spectrum in the frequency band 3600 MHz, it leased the same in the territory of nine counties in the Republic of Croatia.

In accordance with the conditions of the issued concessions, the company Markoja installed and put into operation 5G base stations in Zagreb County, Šibenik-Knin and Dubrovnik-Neretva counties.

In addition to providing users with a better experience in using mobile devices, these base stations open the door to numerous business opportunities. Various industries, such as healthcare, logistics and manufacturing, will be able to take advantage of the fast and reliable 5G network to improve their services and processes. Additionally, unlike optical networks, 5G base station deployment has a significantly faster time to market (TTM) – in a matter of days versus years of fiber optic deployment.

With the launch of 5G base stations, Markoja d.o.o. confirms its commitment to innovation and the advancement of digital infrastructure in Croatia. The company plans to continue working on the expansion of 5G coverage and the implementation of private 5G networks for the needs of industry and business users, all in order to provide access to the latest technology and digital possibilities of the future in the counties where it is licensed to use the radio frequency spectrum.
