The company Markoja was one of the participants in the conference, which was organized this year as part of the FIRESPILL project (Fostering Improved Reaction of Crossborder Emergency Services and Prevention Increasing Safety Level), one of the strategic EU projects of the Interreg program Italy-Croatia, carried out by the Dubrovnik-Neretva County. The emphasis was placed on civil protection, the importance of which was demonstrated during the earthquakes in Zagreb and Sisak-Moslavina County as well as throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Markoja presented its solutions including the deployment, use and better connectivity of the 5G network with lower latency, which would enable the improvement and greater efficiency of civil protection and crisis management systems.
The conference also covered the topic of eco-friendly infrastructure in the form of telecommunication towers made of engineered natural wood. These towers help reduce CO2 emissions, are 100% recyclable, and blend into the rural environment without drastically changing the landscape.
Moreover, Markoja’s partners GeoSIG, Cambium, King ICT, and Plumett – which offers innovative solutions in the area of monitoring critical infrastructure with optical fiber sensors – had the opportunity to propose their own solutions in Dubrovnik.
